How a document gets from your desk to theirs.

Five stages, the same for every order, adapted only where the service requires it.

01 Process

Our five-stage process

01

Submit

Send your source document or files, and tell us the receiving institution if it’s relevant to which product you need.

02

Translate

By a translator with the right domain experience for your document.

03

Revise

A second linguist checks the draft against the source before it moves forward.

04

Certify or stamp, where applicable

Sworn orders get the MAEC translator’s signature and stamp; certified orders get the signed certificate of accuracy.

05

Deliver

Digital PDF by email, with courier or posted hard copy if you added it.

What ISO 17100 principles mean here

  • ISO 17100 describes a translate-then-revise workflow with two qualified linguists on every order, plus defined qualifications for who’s allowed to translate what. We follow that structure on every order, whether or not we hold formal certification to the standard — described honestly here rather than implied by a badge we haven’t confirmed.

What that looks like in practice

  • Every order gets a second-linguist revision pass, not just a spellcheck
  • Translators are matched to the document’s domain (legal, medical, technical) rather than assigned generically
  • The optional add-ons (second legal review, back-translation, glossary build) are additional passes beyond the baseline two-pass workflow, not a replacement for it.

04 Confidentiality

Confidentiality & file handling

Every document you send us is treated as confidential by default — you don’t need to ask.

  • NDA available on request before you share anything sensitive
  • Files are retained only as long as needed to deliver your order and handle any correction under the guarantee, then deleted on a routine schedule
  • Transfer happens over encrypted channels (email attachment or a secure link, depending on file size)
  • Access to your document is limited to the translator and reviewer assigned to your order
