These Terms of Service govern the purchase of translation and interpreting services from Overtranslate Language Services, S.L. (“overtranslate,” “we,” “us”) through overtranslate.com. By placing an order, you accept these terms in full.
These terms apply to every service and product purchased through overtranslate.com: sworn translation, certified translation, legal translation, business & financial translation, technical translation, medical & life-sciences translation, website & marketing localisation, interpreting, and the add-on products listed in our shop.
All prices shown on the site are in euros (EUR) and exclude Spanish VAT (IVA), which is calculated and added at 21% during checkout for consumers, and handled under the intra-EU reverse-charge mechanism for qualifying business orders that supply a valid VAT number. Per-page rates are calculated on the basis of 250 words per page; per-word rates apply to the confirmed word count of the source or target text, whichever is greater, as stated on each service page; interpreting is sold in fixed time blocks. Where an order’s price falls below a service’s published minimum order, the minimum order value applies and is shown explicitly before payment.
An order is placed by adding one or more services or products to the cart, completing the checkout steps (contact details, billing details, delivery method, project details, payment, and review), and confirming at the Review step. A contract is formed once we confirm the order by email. We reserve the right to decline or cancel an order — for example, if a document cannot be translated as described, if payment cannot be verified, or if the source file is not received within a reasonable time — in which case any payment received is refunded in full.
We accept card payment, bank transfer / SEPA, and invoice on request for business orders. Card payments on this site are currently processed in demonstration mode while our full payment integration is finalised: no card is charged and no card data is transmitted or stored. Orders may be settled in full by bank transfer, with details sent by email on order confirmation, or by invoice on request, on 15 days’ payment terms for registered businesses. Work begins once both payment (or an accepted invoice arrangement) and your source document have been received.
Digital deliverables are sent by email as a PDF (and, where applicable, an editable source file) to the address provided at checkout. Physical deliverables (a posted sworn/certified hard copy, or a courier add-on) are sent to the address provided at checkout, within Spain for the standard courier fee or within the EU for the EU courier fee. Turnaround times stated on each service page and in your order confirmation begin once we have received your source document and any information needed to start work — not from the moment of payment alone.
If a Spanish authority or the receiving institution rejects a sworn or certified translation we produced, specifically on formal grounds relating to the translation itself (for example, an incorrect or missing signature, stamp, or required statement of accuracy), we will correct and re-issue the translation at no additional cost. This guarantee covers formal defects in the translation we delivered; it does not cover rejections caused by incorrect information supplied by the client, changes in the receiving institution’s requirements after delivery, or matters unrelated to the translation itself (for example, the underlying validity of the source document).
You are responsible for providing an accurate, legible source document, for confirming which service and variant your situation requires (we’re glad to help you check before you order), and for providing accurate contact and billing information. Where a document is illegible, incomplete, or requires clarification, we will contact you before proceeding, which may affect the stated turnaround.
Once an order is paid in full, the translated deliverable is yours to use for the purpose you ordered it for. We retain no ownership claim over your source document or the resulting translation; we may, however, retain a copy for our own records and for the purposes described in our Privacy Policy.
Our liability for a given order is limited to the price paid for that order, except where liability cannot lawfully be limited (including liability for death, personal injury, or wilful misconduct or gross negligence). We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of business, profit, or opportunity arising from a delay or defect, beyond the correction-and-reissue guarantee described in Section 6.
Consumers ordering from Spain or elsewhere in the EU have a 14-day right of withdrawal under Royal Legislative Decree 1/2007. Because our services are typically customised to your specific document and begin promptly at your request, this right and its limits are set out in full in our Refund, Cancellation & Withdrawal Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
These Terms are governed by Spanish law. Any dispute is submitted to the courts of Barcelona, Spain, without prejudice to a consumer’s right to bring proceedings in the courts of their own place of residence within the EU, and to the European Commission’s Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
